The Waiting Game

My friends in Scotland are expecting me any day, I’m expecting to hear from my Senator’s office any minute, and yet I really have no idea how long all this will take.

It’s incredibly frustrating.

I’m not legally Scottish, nor am I 100% Scottish by blood, but I’m certainly more Scottish then anything else.  My great grandparents were Scottish, through and through.  They hopped on a boat and moved to the US in the 1920s and my grandmother was their first child born in the US, in Boston.

The fact that I’m not being allowed back for a visit is rather irksome to say the least.

To keep from going totally bonkers, I’m climbing cliffs and eating cookies and watching netflix.  I’m baking scones and drinking tea, not so much because it’s Scottish but because I just enjoy it.  I’m fiddling with camera equipment and staring at maps and trying not to unpack my bags any more then necessary.

I’m happy to be here, surrounded by friends and apple blossoms, but really all I want is to be back there, back in Scotland.

And so the waiting game continues…

I’ll let ya know how it goes :)
